Laura M. Darling, Esq. was born in Dolgeville, New York and graduated High School second in her class in 2003. She attended Empire Girls State, as well as participating in a National Student Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. She attended Siena College where she participated in political clubs, theatre and student government. She traveled abroad to Guatemala and Spain, where she became interested in the field of Human Rights and Law. She graduated in 2007 cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with minors in Globalization studies, Writing and Communications.

She was accepted into the class of 2010 at Albany Law School. While obtaining her degree, she restarted the school's dormant student newspaper, The Issue, as well as participating in Phi Alpha Delta. She also had the opportunity to intern for Prisoners Legal Services of Albany, as well as The New York State Division of Human Rights. During her second year of study, she was granted the opportunity to participate in Albany Law School's Clinic and Justice Center in the Family Violence Litigation Clinic.

After graduation in 2010 she was accepted into the highly competitive New York State Senate Fellowship Program as the Richard J. Roth Journalism Fellow. In 2011 she left politics and resumed her career in law as one of the co-founders of Darling & Wesdorp. In 2014, the firm was restructured to become Laura Darling Law and moved to its new location in Troy, New York.

Laura is very passionate about working with people to help them navigate complex legal issues. In her free time, she volunteers with local community theatres and non-profits in the area.
